I have been involved with Morgans for 40 years (35 of which have been in servicing, repair, restoration and manufacture of parts). In about 1965 I asked Peter Morgan if he would object to me producing parts for the Three Wheeler. He said that he would be very happy for me to do this as the Factory could not satisfy this need. From the most basic tools and equipment of the mid-60s when all I had was a very old flat belt drive lathe and pillar drill. I have built up the workshop to be able to cope with almost all aspects of car (Morgan) component manufacture including casting, forging, press work up to 250 tons (from a single radiator gill to the Magna Wheel centres requiring about 150 tons), turning, milling and grinding, to mention but a few. I have a fully equipped woodworking department to produce body frames and foundry patterns, a sheet metal department to make the body panels, tanks and radiators and a trim shop to make the hoods and upholstery.
I make all my own press tools, jigs, fixtures and patterns. All the materials used for building the bodies are exactly as used by Morgans originally but for vital parts such as wheel spindles and highly stressed components I use the best that modern steels can offer.
It is my proud boast that I now make more of the Morgan Three Wheeler than Mr Morgan ever made, given that he used many outside contractors.
